Road Trip to Somewhere in Utah...

One of Danny's patient's hooked us up with an awesome deal at a lodge in Boulder, Utah... so we decided to go on a road trip and explore a part of Utah we had never seen before!  We had so much fun!  The drive was absolutely beautiful with all the trees changing colors... I love Fall!  Here are the girls striking a pose just outside our room...

Here we are trying to capture some of the beautiful colors of our drive.. We are definitely not professional photographers and it's hard to tell how beautiful it was!

Day 1:  We hiked Calf Creek Falls.  It was 6 miles round-trip and the girls made it the whole way...almost!  (They rode on shoulders a little bit!)  They were the only kids on the hike, and they entertained us all by pretending they were witches and riding on brooms (sticks) and "hexing" things!  The highlight of the hike, for Danny, was when we ran into a snake and I freaked out!  Hailey was leading the way, of course, and when we saw the snake I flipped out and ran away from Hailey and left her alone!  (Mom Fail!)  It was just a garter snake and we were all ok, but Danny enjoyed making fun of me!  The waterfall at the end was awesome and well worth the hike!

Day 2:  We set out to explore "Spooky" and "Peek-a-boo" Slot Canyons.  We didn't think we would do the whole hike, but we ended up making the loop.  We hiked through Spooky Canyon and then out Picaboo.  It was really cool, and a little spooky too!  The girls did great and so did my mom (which was impressive)!  This was definitely the girls favorite hike.  Hailey said it was her "best day ever!"

On the way back from the slot canyons, we stopped at Devil's Garden.  It had some cool rock formations and arches.  It reminded me of a little "Arches".  We had a lot of fun climbing on all the rocks.

Day 3:  We stopped at Bryce Canyon on the way home.  We had never been to Bryce Canyon and it was definitely worth the drive!  It was a pretty incredible sight.  I'm not generally afraid of heights, but it's definitely a place that is a little nerve-racking with little kids!

Hailey thought this looked like Elsa's Castle...

We had a great, short, road trip and it was hard to come back to reality!  But we definitely made some fun memories!

We love Fall!

Fall is here and we have been busy!  One of our favorite fall traditions is to go to
Gardner Village to see all the witches.  Here we are with our cousins...

Mckenzie really wanted me to do her hair like a pumpkin today, so I gave it my best shot!
She liked it, so I'm calling it a win!

We also got to go to the pumpkin patch for a field trip with the girls' preschool.
We went on a hayride, picked out some pumpkins, played on the slide, and played in the corn pit!

And here we are at Wheeler Farm with some of my friends
and all of their cute kids!

The girls got to milk a cow for the first time... they both thought it was
pretty cool, but couldn't wait to wash their hands!

Here we are just enjoying the sun at the park... this never gets old!

St. George Road Trip

At the end of September, we took a road trip to St. George with
my mom and my Aunt Linda to visit Great Grandpa.

We explored some new places.  First we went to Gunlock Reservoir.  The water was really low, but it was still pretty.

Then, we drove to Pine Valley.  It was beautiful and quite a bit cooler than St. George, which was great since St. George was still 100 degrees!

The highlight of the trip was when we went to Swiss Days.  They had a "moo-ing" contest and of course my girls wanted their shot at being on the stage.  Hailey and Mckenzie came in first and second place!  Hailey could not have been more excited!

These cute boys were some of their competition.  They came up afterwords and gave the girls "high fives"  and congratulated them.  I was impressed!

New beginnings...

Hailey and Mckenzie were so excited to start their second year of preschool!  Every morning Mckenzie wakes up and asks if she has preschool today!  They love it!

The girls also started dance again.  This year their cousin, Jaycee, is in their dance class along with one of my good friends' daughter.  I can't wait to see what fun things they learn this year!

Summer has come to an end! Here are some highlights...

Danny and Mckenzie went to Farm Country to ride the horses for Date night.  Hailey and I went and saw "Inside Out" in the movie theater!

We tried a new hike.  The dogs got to come with us and they even got to swim!

We have had a cold year of boating! But I can't really complain, we still love to boat!  Hailey tried the knee board this year!

Hanging out with Uncle Riley on the boat...

Our neighborhood does an awesome end of summer party!  Here the girls are loving the big slide!

We made it to one Real Soccer game this year!

I'm not very good with "Selfie's", but I am pretty proud of this one.  Here
we are riding the train at the zoo.

Look Who's 4!

Happy Birthday to Hailey and Mckenzie!  I can't believe they are already 4 years old. :)  The girls had an awesome birthday and we celebrated the whole weekend!

Hailey is all of a sudden obsessed with Elsa, so of course we made an Elsa cake for her.  Mckenzie is still totally in love with Mickey Mouse and horses, but since we made a Mickey cake last year we went with a horse cake this year.

Here's Hailey helping me frost and decorate her cake and luckily Grandma came and helped Mckenzie make her cake.  I think they turned out pretty cute and the girls loved them, so that is all that matters!

Here are the girls in their Birthday outfits showing they are 4 now!

And the party.... Here we are blowing out candles!  We bought an extra cake to serve in case ours ended up not being edible! :)

The highlight of the party were the pinatas!  Apparently Hailey needs some work on her softball swing...

Mckenzie, on the other hand, is a natural... we might have to sign them up tor T-ball this year!

We decided to make a weekend out of their birthdays... so we took the girls to Idaho for a fun camping trip.  First we went and visited my Aunt Linda in Lava Hot Springs.  There we got to ride horses, hold kittens, feed baby chicks, and pet turkeys at her farm.  We also were brave and took the girls tubing down the river.  They didn't love it the first time, but it was much better the 2nd time down.  :)  Then we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and camped out.  The next day we went and visited Grandpa Greg on his farm near Pocatello.   We got to feed his horses, ride the 4-Wheelers and we ended our trip by visiting Danny's mom's grave.  It was a crazy-busy weekend, but we had a great time!
